Ghost Walks

Celebrate Halloween with Oakville Historical Society Ghost Walks through Old Oakville. Join ghost characters from the 1800’s for family friendly fun and learning about Oakville's history, followed by light refreshments and discussions.

Dates & Times:

  • 2024 dates: Daily from Tuesday October 15th to Wednesday October 30th, except Sundays
  • One hour tours run at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. 

Tickets:

  • Adults: $15
  • Children 12 and under: $8
  • All minors must be accompanied: one adult for every four minors
  • All adults accompanying minors must purchase an adult ticket
  • Advanced reservations are required
  • Online ticket sales end 4 hours before a Ghost Walk start time.
  • Ticket purchases are on a first come - first served basis and may not be available for your preferred days/times.
  • Maximum capacity of 15 for each walk

Changes & Cancellations:

  • Changes to day/time of walk may be made up to 48 hours before the walk time (subject to availability).
  • Cancellations for a full refund may be made up to 48 hours before a walk time.
  • To make a change or cancel, go to your ticket confirmation email and click on MANAGE TICKETS.
  • The ticketing system will issue revised tickets, or provide a refund, if changes are made within the 48 hour deadline.

Groups:

Walks can be arranged for groups. 

Maximum size for a group is 15. You can book for larger groups of up to 30 and these will be split into two groups. 

Please contact us well in advance to make arrangements. 

Special Requirements:

Our tours are organized and hosted by volunteers who will do their best to provide a great experience for all our participants. If you are an individual or a group with mobility, language or other special requirements, please contact us well in advance so we can determine if your special needs can be accommodated.

Some options include: 

  • Group virtual walks with a screen presentation
  • Groups ride the route on their own bus 
  • Group walks in French
  • Group walks in other languages with groups providing their own interpreter.

Good to Know:

  • Walks will continue if it is raining: if thunder is heard the walk will be canceled.
  • Walks require the ability to walk or travel along sidewalks, gravel paths and park grass.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Sorry, no pets allowed: approved service animals only allowed with advance notice.

We like to publicize the work of the Oakville Historical Society by posting photos and/or video on our website and/or social media. Unless participants, their parents or guardians state otherwise to the person in charge of an event, participation implies consent for the Society to use such images. Under no circumstances will the names of minors be used in our publications without written consent.
