Lest we forget

Every year around Remembrance Day, the Society posts a series of banners at George's Square. The George's Square Memorial and the Trafalgar Township Memorial also list honour rolls of Oakville and Trafalgar residents who served from the First World War on. We have also created a number of exhibits covering the First World War which can be viewed online.

Exhibits

World War 1 - Images of life during the Great War

The Munro Letters - WW1 soldiers write home from the trenches

Poppies - A powerful symbol of remembrance

Banners

Be sure to check out our banners that will be on display in George's Square around Remembrance Day. They deal with conflicts that have shaped Oakville from the American War of Independence through to Canada's role in United Nations Peacekeeping.
