From a life-long passion for Canadian inventors and technology, Professor Mark Rector will provide an update on his comprehensive tome, chock full of inventors’ stories, firsts, and innovations that happened here in our “Home and Inventive Land.”

Professor Mark Rector is an experienced Professor of Electronics Engineering and a published author with numerous technical articles and contributions to a nationally published textbook. He is a passionate, entertaining, and gifted speaker who can hold an audience and explain complex subjects in a fun and easily understood way. His first book is “OH CANADA! Our Home and Inventive Land!”.
Professor Rector's speciality in radio, wireless, and telecommunications technology formed his course repertoire for 15 years in Academia and he is also a former program coordinator.
A former 16-year veteran of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force, his experience was in a mission-critical public safety land mobile radio environment. He was responsible for maintaining, installing, repairing, and integrating several large-scale 9-1-1 trunking and conventional voice and data radio systems from manufacturers, including Motorola, GE, Ericson, and MDI. Other experience included public safety training, video production, and classroom training for public safety personnel.
Professor Rector also owned and operated a successful small business for 10 years specializing in electronics consulting, custom home theatre, and computers.
