Dear Minnie

Just a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope you are the same and that I received your box alright and thank you very much for same they the candies were just lovely as all the boys said you know that I never eat them myself any more as I can never get any.

This is rather a dull day yesterday it was raining and I didn't go to Church and it isn't much better to day. I guess likely by this time you have heard about Harry Parker the well known G.T.R. Brakeman who was killed by his own train near the Catholic Church at Simcoe poor fellow well cannot say much for news are scarce so will thank you again² for your kindness and wishing you all the goodluck of the season your friend as ever
