Dear Mother,
I have had no mail from home since I last wrote but expect some in a couple of days. We are still out of the line and, as it is fine weather, are having a good time. Last night I had a little swim and a good wash. It is the first time I have been wet all over at the same time in about a year.
It is Sunday to-day and I am billet orderly. My job is to pick up the paper and rubbish lying around and to straighten things up.
(PAGE 2)
It isn't much of a job (blacked out) so I finished up before the troops came back from church parades. My address is changed now on account of new formations. It now is "E" Battery, 4th Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps.
I have not seen Brock for a long time and I haven't had a chance to see Gerald nor Art Hillmer.
I will stop now for the same old reason.
Love to all,
Melville.
