Arthur Melville "Pork" Munro was the son of Jessie and Rev. Dr. James E. Munro. He attended Oakville High School, and was the brother of Hugh Gordon "Gug" Munro, Edward "Ed" Munro, Margaret "Pug" Armstrong (nee Munro), and Ethel "Bill" Munro. Melville was a veteran of World War I.
