France. March 20th.

My Own Darling Minnie.

Its now Monday and time I was writing to my girlie again. Well Dear nothing much has happened since last writing, so cant promise a very long letter this time. Your long looked for letter has not come yet, and its over two weeks since I had one from you, but as there is no Canadian mail in, I know its not the fault of the ones at home, but am expecting it tonight, and will tell you if one does come. 

The weather is a lot dryer, and much nicer than the wet and mud we have had to put up with. I was visited yesterday by the George Richie, and had quite a long talk with him, it seemed like old times again, to have some one to talk to who knew the same girls that I do, and I think he is a very nice fellow, and was very glad he came over, some night I intend going to his billets as its not far from where we are now, and it helps to pass the spare time we get quickly. 

Its now Tuesday¹ so will try and finish your letter now, we are having some real March weather, and the wind is terrible, but if the rain and snow keep away it will help to dry things quickly and make the war nearer to an end. Your letter didn't come last night, but surely it will be here today sometime as I'm getting rather anxious2 about you, as I like to hear that you are still well and happy, which is the most important thing now I'm far away. 

Well Minnie dear, there isn't much to say this time, so will close, hoping this reaches you safely and in the best of health, as it leaves your soldier lover with heaps of love, and kisses ever your own,
