Dear Mother,
Here I am back with the company at last. I was glad to get back to get my mail and believe me: I did get a bunch of it. There were about umpteen from you, and some from all the others in the family besides others. I also got umpteen boxes and have managed to keep that hungry feeling away. It feels good to get a bunch of mail when you have been without it for so long.
Most of the (blacked out) boys are over here now and I have seen quite a

few of them. I saw Flaxman, Harold Farmer, Durrant McGregor and quite a few more. I have not seen Gerald yet but will do so as soon as I get any kind of a chance. I am not up the line just a present but never know when I will go up. I think this year will see the end of the war. I sure will be glad to get home when it does finish and I won't care if I have to eat "dope" at every meal.
Well I will have to close now and get my supper. Some supper.
